A door closing

The blame shifted

Because I’m the villain in your tale

The showers in sunshine were given

When convenient

When it was sweet and sticky from the popsicles we ate

But not during the evening

When I was freezing

you all had sweaters on

Without considering the purple sprouting

over my skin

And now you run far away

You laugh, have fun

Because you’re done

With me

Don’t you know

I’m still here

I sit alone

mourning and scorning at the end

Shredding myself apart

Because I can’t help but cling onto the pain

that I never meant to cause
